Eldegarde Set for Full Release After Early Access Journey

Notorious Studios has confirmed that its debut title, Eldegarde, will officially launch in version 1.0 on January 21, 2026, exclusively on PC via Steam. The extraction RPG has been available in Early Access since February 2025, during which time it has steadily built a dedicated player base and evolved significantly based on community feedback.

Previously known as Legacy: Steel & Sorcery, the game blends classic fantasy archetypes with PvEvE extraction gameplay, tasking players with surviving hostile environments filled with monsters, rival adventurers, and high-risk loot opportunities.

A PvEvE Extraction Fantasy Built With Players

Players choose from familiar fantasy classes such as Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, and Paladin, venturing into sprawling outdoor zones, shadowy forests, and ominous crypts in search of powerful gear. Each run carries the constant tension of safe extraction, whether threats come from AI-controlled enemies or other players hunting the same rewards.

Notorious Studios has spent the past eleven months working closely with its community, using Early Access feedback to refine combat balance, expand the class roster, and introduce new maps designed around both exploration and conflict.

One of the most notable additions arriving with the 1.0 launch is a dedicated PvE mode. Designed for more casual players, the mode removes player-versus-player pressure while preserving Eldegarde‘s core combat systems, progression, and map design.

The PvE experience allows players to learn mechanics, experiment with builds, and explore the world at their own pace. According to the studio, the mode also serves as a gateway to the broader ecosystem, which includes PvP Arenas, a Social Hub, and PvE Dungeons.

A World That Grew Beyond Its Original Vision

Founder Chris Kaleiki, a Blizzard veteran best known for his work on World of Warcraft expansions such as Wrath of the Lich King and Mists of Pandaria, described the Early Access period as transformative for the project.

Originally conceived as a hardcore PvPvE experience, Eldegarde expanded in scope as player demand grew for a more MMO-inspired structure. The final version now offers multiple playstyles within a shared world, reflecting how the game’s direction shifted alongside its community.

Players who purchase the game during Early Access will automatically receive the 1.0 update at no additional cost when the game launches in January. The title remains available for purchase on Steam ahead of its full release.
