Experience Wolf-killing Roguelite Ovis loop with Limited-time Playtest

In an industry now filled with various roguelikes of all shapes and sizes, how do you stand out? For Singapore indie studio LIFUEL, it’s about casting players as a robotic sheep, evening the odds against the worst wolfkind has to offer. In Ovis Loop, you will be wielding a greatsword and cutting through wave after wave of canine adversaries.

If the premise wasn’t enough, the fluid and kinetic combat should. Flashy moves, enemy variety, and the likely high level of challenge should keep players coming back for more even if you become lamb chops while fighting the forces of the evil Doctor Wolf.

Your combat style will change with the deckbuilding elements of the game, transforming as you progress to create something uniquely yours. Defeated enemies will have skills you can download and hack into your arsenal, which creates plenty of possibilities.

On the visual front, the pixel art is also quite easy on the eyes, and comes to life quite well when the action is heavy. The level of destructability is something that is worth noting too. Ovis Loop also promises a tale of mystery and intrigue, where players have the opporunity to uncover just why our protagonist exists, and how the world came to be this way.

Formerly known as Stand Alone, you don’t just have to read about the game or watch it, a limited-time playtest is now live on Steam for the game until midnight on June 6 (GMT+8).

“A heartfelt thank you to every player who’s followed, supported, and joined us since our public reveal. In this round of testing, we’re excited to introduce brand-new exclusive boss modules, combat and control optimisations, improved UI and controller support, plus even more story and system content — everything you need for a richer, smoother gaming experience,” shared the studio.

To experience Ovis Loop, simply head over to Steam and request to join the playtest. Approved applications will be informed and gain instant access to. No release date has been set for the game, but hopefully, we are inching closer to realising the revenge of the wooly protagonist.
