Find Your Words Confirms an April 8 Launch on Steam
Capybara Games has confirmed that Find Your Words will launch on April 8 on Steam for PC, bringing the studio’s short communication-focused adventure to players earlier than expected.
Find Your Words is being released as a free game, with an optional supporter edition available for those who want to back the project further. The key point is that the game remains accessible without purchase, which aligns with Capybara’s stated goal of increasing awareness of alternative communication methods.
A Summer Camp Adventure Built Around Nonverbal Communication
Find Your Words takes place at a colourful summer camp, following a child learning to communicate without speech. The core interaction loop centres on exploring the campgrounds, meeting other campers, and building friendships through small moments rather than big setpiece drama.
Players collect symbols for a communication binder, learning how different combinations carry different meanings and open up new interactions. As the camp opens, the game introduces additional activities and character moments, with a tone that emphasises warmth and discovery.

Quote: Capybara Frames the Project’s Purpose
Capybara is positioning Find Your Words as a deliberately personal project with a clear intent.
“We’re proud to release this special project as a fully free game in our efforts to shine a light on alternative communication methods,” said Eileen Hollinger, studio president. “Making Find Your Words has been a tremendous learning experience for our team, and we hope it can spark new awareness for players too.”
The game began as a passion project from two Capybara developers and fathers, inspired by their experiences raising non-speaking children. Capybara also says development has been informed by feedback from speech-language pathologists and AAC users, signalling an effort to approach the subject with care rather than treating it as an aesthetic.
In terms of feel, Find Your Words is designed for all ages, aiming for a calm, nostalgic rhythm built around exploration, wildlife, and light interaction. It is a smaller release by scope, but it is clear about what it wants to do: offer a gentle adventure that centres communication beyond speech as a lived experience, not a gimmick.
