FromSoftware Reveals Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive The Duskbloods, a PvPvE Experience

Set for an Exclusive Release on the Nintendo Switch 2, the Duskbloods is Designed As a Multiplayer-focused Title with Both Cooperative and Competitive Modes.

When FromSoftware first created the Souls genre and turned it into one of the key pillars of their success, the company often did so with help from Sony and PlayStation. That gave players Demon’s Souls and later, Bloodborne, a game that remains a beloved classic. Over time, the studio expanded into multi-platform publishing, collaborating closely with Bandai Namco and Activision. However, they have now entered an exclusive partnership with Nintendo, revealing The Duskbloods for the Nintendo Switch 2 at the latest Nintendo Direct.

Alongside the announcement that their critically acclaimed open-world title Elden Ring will be coming to the console, FromSoftware also had time to spring a surprise reveal in The Duskbloods, which will launch sometime in 2026.

With a strong gothic aesthetic reminiscent of Bloodborne, especially in the dialogue and music showcased in its debut trailer, The Duskbloods has already captivated fans. However, FromSoftware has remained tight-lipped about the finer details of what the game will offer, but in a tweet, the studio shares that it will be a “PvPvE-focused multiplayer action title.”

Players will play as the Bloodsworn, a group that has transcended humanity with the help of special blood, and the prize at stake is the title of First Blood. What that means is still unclear, but with up to eight players trying to come out on top, it will be a fierce fight. Guns, machinery, and even your teeth can be used, and that will make for a bloody fun time.

If The Duskbloods gives you a sense of déjà vu, particularly of FromSoftware’s upcoming Elden Ring: Nightreign, the comparison is not unfounded. With a focus on multiplayer gameplay against other players and enemies alike, the action might be similar, but the worlds are starkly different.

The project will be helmed by Hidetaka Miyazaki himself and is scheduled for release in 2026, though no specific launch window has been announced.
