Godbreakers Sets October Release Date With New Demo

After making waves during its Gamescom 2025 showing — where we got an early hands-on and spoke with the developers — To The Sky and Thunderful have now confirmed that Godbreakers will officially launch on October 23 for PC and PlayStation 5.
A fresh trailer revealed the date, highlighting the frenetic hack-and-slash action that defines the 1–4 player roguelite. For those eager to dive in early, an updated demo featuring a brand-new biome will arrive on October 9, ahead of its inclusion in Steam Next Fest on October 13.
The Godbreak Mechanic
As detailed in our Gamescom preview and interview, Godbreakers’ standout feature is the Godbreak system. This mechanic lets players weaken foes mid-fight, absorb their powers, and unleash devastating attacks against enemies using their own abilities. Powers range from tunnelling underground ambushes to massive beam strikes, offering plenty of room for creative play.
Fast, Fluid Combat Across Surreal Biomes
Players can explore six distinct biomes — from the toxic swamps of Sabboath to the colourful chaos of Kar-Aja — either solo or in co-op with up to three friends. Combat is designed for responsiveness, with fully cancelable moves that allow dashes, chains, and mid-action adjustments.
Boss battles remain a highlight, featuring multi-phase encounters that evolve as the fight progresses, challenging both reflexes and coordination. Loot, unlockable archetypes, and build experimentation further enhance the depth and replayability of each run.
Demo Details and Localisation
The October 9 demo will feature a new biome, a fresh boss and miniboss, and “Tangles” — optional modifiers that increase difficulty for added challenge.
For those who can’t wait, the current demo is already available on Steam, now localised into 12 languages, including Simplified Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish.
Godbreakers launches October 23 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and PlayStation 5, with day-one co-op chaos awaiting players.
