Moonlighter 2’s Greed & Glory Update Adds Greed Colosseum Wave Battles

Digital Sun and 11 bit studios have released the Greed & Glory update for Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, delivering the game’s first major Early Access content drop on Steam.

The headline addition is Greed Colosseum, a new wave-based challenge mode designed to push builds under sustained pressure, while the wider patch expands combat variety, deepens progression, and tightens the economy ahead of the game’s 1.0 release later in 2026.

For players, this is the kind of update that changes the cadence of a run. It gives veterans something to master beyond the main dungeon loop and gives returning players a clear reason to come back, especially if they have already seen the core content and were waiting for a bigger update to reshape the meta.

Greed Colosseum Is a New Stress Test for Builds

Greed Colosseum is framed as a wave-based challenge where each biome brings its own enemy mixes and mini bosses across escalating rounds. In practice, this should become the clearest measure of how good a build actually is, because it forces consistency.

You cannot rely on a lucky room roll or a comfortable tempo. You either control the space and keep scaling, or the Colosseum punishes you. For players who enjoy optimisation, it is also the most repeatable content in the update.

Wave modes are inherently replayable, and the biome rotation should encourage experimenting with different loadouts depending on what you expect to face.

HEX and New Weapons Expand How You Approach Combat

Beyond the new mode, Greed & Glory introduces HEX, a new combat path built around cursing enemies with delayed damage that can spread across multiple targets in Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault.

It is a playstyle that rewards setup and positioning rather than pure burst, and it should slot naturally into the game’s existing path system by enabling new combinations and synergies.

The update also adds fresh equipment options, including the Blo Blitz dual guns, a mobility-friendly weapon built for players who like to stay moving and keep pressure on. It is tied to a special quest and crafting recipe unlock, so it is positioned as something to chase rather than a free upgrade.

More Rooms, More Perks, and Deeper Progression

Greed & Glory adds 20 new combat rooms to Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, broadening the variety of encounters so runs feel less repetitive. Perk sets have also been expanded across multiple sources, with more build synergies available through Andrei’s options, giving players additional ways to shape a run as it unfolds.

Progression also gets meaningful additions. The Witch receives a new skill tree focused on survivability during runs, while K33P3R’s expanded tree adds more shop utility, reinforcing the merchant side of the loop.

There is also a continuation of the Endless Vault thread through the 5th Key narrative, aimed at players already deep enough to have conquered earlier key challenges.

Economy Tuning Targets the Merchant RPG Loop

Finally, the update includes balance changes to relic pricing, economy flow, and progression pacing. These changes are easy to overlook in patch notes, but they often matter most over time. Better gold scaling and upgrades that feel earned should make the shop loop land more cleanly, especially as Moonlighter 2 pushes toward a full 1.0 experience.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is available now in Early Access on PC via Steam. The full 1.0 release is planned for later in 2026 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
