Hades 2 Leaves Early Access with 1.0 Launch on 25 September
Indie powerhouse Supergiant Games has confirmed that Hades 2 will leave Early Access and launch in its full 1.0 version on September 25. The announcement was made during the latest Nintendo Direct, cementing the roguelike sequel as one of this year’s most anticipated indie releases.
From Early Access to Full Release
Hades 2 first entered Early Access on PC in May 2024, following in the footsteps of its award-winning predecessor. Over the past 16 months, Supergiant has expanded the game with new characters, weapons, and biomes, while fine-tuning combat and progression. The studio describes it as the largest game they have ever developed, building on lessons learned from the first Hades, which won multiple Game of the Year awards in 2020.
Cross-Save Support Between PC and Switch
A major new feature for 1.0 is cross-save support. Players who started on PC via Steam or Epic Games Store will be able to transfer their progress seamlessly to Nintendo Switch or the Switch 2. This functionality means fans can continue their underworld escape at home or on the go without losing progress, a convenience rarely offered in indie releases.
Built on Community Feedback
Supergiant has credited its community for shaping Hades 2. Frequent updates during Early Access addressed player feedback on difficulty, balance, and narrative pacing. This iterative approach mirrors the original Hades’ development cycle, where transparency and responsiveness helped cement the studio’s reputation for polish and creativity.
Platforms and Release
Hades 2 1.0 will be available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) at launch. With its blend of mythology, fast-paced roguelike combat, and a fan-focused development process, it is already positioned as one of 2025’s defining indie titles.
