Helldivers 2 will launch on Xbox Series X|S consoles this August 26, with pre-orders available today. This marks a major shift, as the game was originally exclusive to PlayStation and PC under Sony’s publishing arm.

The good news doesn’t stop there. The Xbox release will feature full crossplay support, allowing players across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S consoles, and PC to team up seamlessly. An interesting detail from the announcement: Microsoft’s official blog, Xbox Wire, which shared the news, makes no mention of Sony or PlayStation whatsoever. Instead, it attributes the game’s development solely to Arrowhead Game Studios and Nixxes Software, the latter of which is known for its PC ports of PlayStation games. Sony itself has remained silent, offering no public statement regarding the Xbox release.
