Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Launches in Early Access on April 30, 2026

Hooded Horse, Unfrozen Studio, and Ubisoft have confirmed that Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will enter Early Access on April 30 for PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store through Game Preview. The release will also be available day one on PC Game Pass, giving the long-running strategy series an immediate distribution push as it returns with its first new main entry in over a decade.

Rather than launching as a fixed product after a long hiatus, Olden Era is being positioned as a living strategy platform that can evolve with player feedback, balance tuning, and content rollout, which tends to matter more in turn-based systems games than in most other genres.

A Familiar Heroes Foundation, with New and Classic Modes

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is built around the series’ standard pillars: empire development, exploration across a world map, turn-based tactical battles, and RPG-style progression. The announcement also emphasises the breadth of play options, with modes designed for both solo players and multiplayer groups.

At launch in Early Access, the game is expected to include a narrative campaign, Single Hero and Classic skirmish modes, an Arena mode, premade scenarios, and multiplayer. It will also feature a mix of procedurally generated maps and hand-crafted maps, aiming to satisfy the traditional Heroes loop of replayable skirmishes alongside authored content.

A New Land and a Modern Multi-Mode Package

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era also introduces a new setting described as a vibrant, previously unseen land filled with secrets and dangers. This is a new chapter attempting to reconnect with the series’ older identity while modernising its mode structure and multiplayer options.

The mention of massive armies of mythical creatures and city-building is familiar Heroes language, but it is also the promise that matters for veterans: the return is not a small-scale reboot, but as a full-featured strategy package.

Localisation Support at Launch

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will be localised from English into a wide range of languages, including German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Siege

For a strategy title hoping to rebuild momentum globally, that is a practical quality-of-life win at launch rather than a post-release patch note.
