Community Feedback Sparks Change
Hollow Knight: Silksong has been one of the most anticipated indie titles of the decade, but since its launch, players have been vocal about its punishing difficulty curve. Even series veterans have described the early game as unbalanced, with bosses and common enemies hitting harder than expected. Team Cherry has now confirmed that they’ve heard the feedback and are preparing a fix.
Patch 1.0.28470 Brings Balance Tweaks
In a post on the Steam Community, Team Cherry announced that Patch 1.0.28470 will arrive mid-next week. While the update includes bug fixes, the major focus is on early-game balance improvements for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Key adjustments include:
- Boss Balancing: Early bosses Moorwing and Sister Splinter will now deal slightly less damage, along with common enemies like Sandcarvers.
- Economy Improvements: The Rosary system has been tweaked. Players will earn more from relics and psalm cylinders, while shop prices in Bellway and at Bell Bench have been lowered.

These changes are aimed at smoothing the difficulty curve for new players without removing the challenge that defines the series.
More Updates in the Pipeline
Team Cherry also confirmed that a second patch is already in development to address other issues not covered by this update for Hollow Knight: Silksong. While no details were shared, the studio assured fans that continued refinements are planned.
For now, fans can look forward to a more balanced start when Patch 1.0.28470 rolls out next week. Full patch notes are available on the game’s official Steam page.
