Honor of Kings: World Demonstrates Combat System in Latest Trailer

With growing anticipation fuelled by an increasing flow of information to the public, Timi Studio Group and Tencent GamesHonor of Kings: World has steadily garnered the attention of gacha enthusiasts worldwide. Although many outside China may not be too familiar with the immensely popular MOBA game it’s based on, the upcoming action RPG spin-off is hard to ignore. Its captivating visual presentation, expansive world, and MMO raid-inspired combat system set it apart from the crowd.

Previously, fans were only treated to brief snippets of gameplay with little context. However, the latest trailer, which runs for about five minutes, offers a deeper dive into the game’s combat mechanics and provides a clearer picture of what players can expect in terms of in-game visuals.

At its core, Honor of Kings: World plays like a traditional action RPG. Based on the trailer, it appears players will control a primary protagonist with a pivotal role in combat. This main character is equipped with both melee weapons and ranged arms, along with powerful active skills capable of dealing massive damage when timed correctly.

What stands out is the character-switching system, reminiscent of other gacha-based titles like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. The trailer introduced different characters, each with distinct playstyles. For example, while the main protagonist relies on dodging techniques, another character named Kaizer focuses more on parry-based timing and defensive manoeuvres. This diversity promises increased complexity and excitement, especially with the inclusion of various battle modes and boss fights that evoke classic MMORPG raid mechanics.

Developer Timi Studio Group concluded the showing by offering a glimpse of the game world and affirming its commitment to optimising for the mobile version. This segment also subtly confirmed that the stunning gameplay footage seen so far has been primarily captured on the PC version. Unfortunately, the team has yet to announce an official release date for Honor of Kings: World, which is planned for both mobile and PC platforms.
