Microsoft’s position in the gaming industry is currently in a somewhat awkward state. On one hand, the company aims to expand its reach by publishing games on as many platforms as possible. On the other hand, certain titles remain exclusive to Xbox to strengthen its ecosystem. However, PlayStation 5 gamers have reason to celebrate, as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be coming to the console in just a while.
After being previously announced for PlayStation 5 before its initial release, the game’s exact launch date for the platform has finally been revealed.
Bethesda and MachineGames made the announcement with a humorous yet meaningful trailer, featuring voice actors Nolan North and Troy Baker. North, known for voicing Nathan Drake in Uncharted, appeared alongside Baker, who plays Indiana Jones in this game. The interaction between the two was a subtle nod to the undeniable influence that Indiana Jones has had on Uncharted, further highlighting the connections between these two iconic franchises.
The PlayStation 5 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is officially set to launch on April 17. Players can look forward to a fully optimised experience, as the game will support the PlayStation 5 Pro’s enhanced capabilities. The explorer is not only going to look better, but will have two new whip abilities to count on as well.
With Open Season, whip-cracking an enemy will temporarily cause them to take more damage from subsequent attacks, while Sleight of Hand will disarm an enemy and cause their weapon to fly Indy’s way. Additionally, those who pre-order will receive the The Last Crusade DLC at launch, which contains the Traveling Suit outfit and Lion Tamer whip.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is already available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass, where it has been met with overwhelmingly positive reception.
