Treating employees with respect and generosity appears to be a growing aspect of the development culture in South Korea, particularly among studios achieving major success. Following in the footsteps of Shift Up, who famously rewarded their team after Stellar Blade’s success with PlayStation 5 units, PlayStation 5 Pros, and most recently, the Nintendo Switch 2, another Korean gaming entity is following suit in NEOWIZ.
The developers behind the critically acclaimed Souls-like title Lies of P has reportedly rewarded its employees in celebration of a major milestone: over 3 million copies of the game sold, combining both physical and digital sales. The announcement came via South Korean news outlet The Elec.
To show their appreciation, the studio extended generous bonuses to the entire development team at ROUND8 Studio, the core developers behind the game, as well as their internal support teams. Each employee received an early release bonus of ₩10 million, equivalent to approximately US$7,300. And the perks didn’t stop there.

As part of the reward package, there was also an additional two weeks of paid vacation on top of the 15 days of mandatory paid leave required under South Korean labour laws. If that still wasn’t enough to boost morale, the studio also gave every employee a Nintendo Switch 2 console.
This bold gesture underlines the company’s recognition of its employees’ hard work and its commitment to fostering a positive and rewarding work environment. Meanwhile, the studio isn’t slowing down. Neowiz is currently working on a sequel which was previously confirmed, as well as the development of a major expansion titled Overture, now available on the market.
By rewarding its teams with such generous incentives, Neowiz not only celebrates its commercial success but also sets a shining example of employee appreciation in the global gaming industry.
