Positioned as perhaps the biggest blockbuster to arrive for the PlayStation 5 ecosystem, Sucker Punch Productions‘ Ghost of Yotei got the spotlight it deserves at the latest State of Play presentation. However, beyond just showcasing the gameplay that awaits players, Sony also ensured fans had something else to look forward to with the reveal of two limited-edition PlayStation 5 console bundles.
“These stunning designs capture Sucker Punch’s fictional depiction of Ezo (which is now known as Hokkaido), and the world that players will embark on to explore Atsu’s tale of vengeance. Mt. Yōtei is an iconic location and has become a symbol for Hokkaido as well as Atsu herself, which is why we wanted to reflect the beauty of the region and landscape by paying homage to two beautiful Japanese visual traditions,” shared Erika Peterson, senior director of product marketing.
“Fans will also love that both consoles feature a special maker’s seal engraved with PlayStation shapes on the back of the console’s top cover as well as on the DualSense Wireless controllers.”

Inspired by the Japanese art form of kintsugi, where broken ceramics are given a new lease of life using lacquer and gold, this particular Ghost of Yotei limited edition PS5 console looks instantly eye-catching with the gold on both sides. Coupled with the matching DualSense controller, it seems like a winner.
“The design captures the essence and aesthetic of kintsugi, symbolising beauty in imperfection and mirroring Atsu’s own personal journey of healing and resilience amidst the adversities she’ll face along the way,” Petersen said.
PS5 Console – Ghost of Yotei Black Limited Edition Bundle
As for the black version of the bundle, it “draws inspiration from another Japanese traditional art form, Sumi-e, which is the use of black ink on paintings. Expressing the landmarks of Ezo through bold black brush strokes, this design captures the essence of the land’s beauty and mystery, while echoing Atsu’s inner struggle and journey towards redemption.”
Both bundles come with a matching DualSense wireless controller, which has a striking silhouette of Atsu on the DualSense touchpad.
For fans hoping to get their hands on these, all bundles come with the limited edition PS5 console with disc drive, matching DualSense wireless controller, and a digital copy of Ghost of Yotei Standard Edition that includes pre-order content, featuring a unique in-game mask, as well as a set of seven PSN avatars featuring concept art of Atsu and each member of the Yōtei Six.
Even if you already own the console, fret not. The gold console covers can be purchased separately for both Slim and Pro versions. The console covers feature the same kintsugi-inspired designs and maker’s seal. The same goes for the DualSense controllers.
The Ghost of Yotei Limited Edition PS5 consoles and accessories will be available on October 2 in limited quantities.
