Bandai Namco and developer Supermassive Games have released a free demo for Little Nightmares III, giving fans an early chance to experience the next chapter of the unsettling horror-puzzle series. The trial is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, and will run until October 10.
Explore The Necropolis
The demo allows players to take control of protagonists Low and Alone as they attempt to escape The Necropolis, a haunting desert city suspended in time. Here, the disturbing presence of Monster Baby stalks every corner, forcing players to rely on stealth, teamwork, and puzzle-solving to survive.
The Little Nightmares III demo can be played solo, with an AI companion controlling the second character, or in online co-op with a friend on the same platform. However, progress made in the trial will not carry over to the full release.
Story and Gameplay

Little Nightmares III continues the series’ tradition of blending eerie atmosphere with environmental storytelling. Players follow Low and Alone as they journey through the Spiral, a world warped by delusions and lurking dangers. The game supports solo play with AI assistance or full co-op, making it the first entry in the franchise to integrate online multiplayer from the outset.
As with previous titles, players can expect unsettling creature designs, cleverly staged puzzles, and a constant tension between innocence and horror. Supermassive Games has promised that the new entry will expand both the scope of environments and the depth of character-driven narrative.
Release Date and Pre-Orders
Little Nightmares III is scheduled to release on October 10 across all major platforms. Pre-orders are now open on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, while Nintendo Switch pre-orders will follow at a later date.
With the demo already live, players have a chance to sample what may become one of the most memorable horror experiences of 2025.
