Reviving a classic game through a remaster is often the most effective way to gauge a brand’s appeal, not just through nostalgia, but also in attracting a new generation of players. This approach has proven successful for Dragami Games with their revival of Lollipop Chainsaw, originally developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. Now, the franchise is poised to make a full comeback.
Following a significant investment from Taiwan-based company Nada Holdings, who were reportedly drawn in after the Lollipop Chainsaw remaster surpassed 1.5 million copies sold, Dragami Games has officially unveiled their future plans for the franchise, and it is not insignificant.
As reported by Automaton, that investment will result in two major projects: a brand-new Lollipop Chainsaw game and an anime adaptation. While the anime version remains largely under wraps with no sign of what it will look like or cover, Dragami Games has confirmed that development on the new video game is already underway.

Who’s Behind the New Lollipop Chainsaw Game?
Interestingly, reports suggest that Dragami has brought back some of the original development team members, although specific names have yet to be disclosed. The studio is committed to preserving the series’ signature dark humour and has promised that the new game will not be subjected to censorship under the guise of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) standards.
Unfortunately, there’s still no word on a release window for either the game or the anime. Details regarding the studio behind the anime adaptation also remain unknown at this stage. Given the relatively fresh nature of the investment, that is understandable, but the marker has now been set.
Regardless of concrete details, the announcement is already generating excitement among fans, as Dragami Games seeks to reintroduce Lollipop Chainsaw to both loyal followers and new audiences, this time with fresh content and a firm stance on creative freedom.
