Marathon Server Slam Begins February 27
Bungie is opening the gates early with the Marathon Server Slam, a limited-time open preview running from February 27 at 2AM to March 3 at 2AM, Singapore time.
The Server Slam will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, giving players worldwide a chance to experience the upcoming extraction shooter ahead of its full launch. Notably, participation will not require PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, and the event will be included as part of Xbox Free Play Days and Steam Next Fest.
What Players Can Expect
The Server Slam offers an introduction to Marathon’s core gameplay loop, featuring a limited selection of maps, Runner shells and contracts. While the preview will not include the full launch lineup, Bungie has confirmed that additional maps, factions, contracts and gear will roll out at release and during Season 1 of the shooter.
Marathon is set on the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV, where players assume the role of bio-cybernetic Runners scavenging for valuable resources while facing hostile security forces, rival Runners and unpredictable environmental threats.
Earn Rewards Before Launch
Participation during the Server Slam will carry over benefits into the full release. Players who take part in the preview or watch via Twitch can unlock tiered gear packages and cosmetic Twitch Drops for use when Marathon launches.
Marathon is scheduled to release on March 6, with both Standard and Deluxe editions available. The full game will support cross-play and cross-save across platforms. With just days to go before launch, the Server Slam serves as both a stress test and a final preview for players eager to dive into Bungie’s latest competitive shooter.
