Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is the continuation of expanding the franchise, an exciting new reveal during the latest Nintendo Direct.
In the latest entry in the role-playing series, which is a departure from the mainline games, players will once again be tasked with raising monsters and connecting with them, embarking on adventures together. As Riders, it will be up to you and your chosen companions to employ the best turn-based strategies to save the day.
The Story of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is all about the two nations of Azuria and Vermeil. Facing the dangerous threat of crystal encroachment, the only hope lies in a mysterious egg. Long thought to be extinct, the egg hatches and a Rathalos emerges.
Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a glimmer of hope turns to despair, as a second Rathalos appears, with the twin Rathalos sporting the same mark as the twin Skyscale Rathalos, which were portents of destruction that hearken back to a civil war waged 200 years ago. Now, amidst the destruction of the environment and the pending doom of monsters, the flames of war burn, and someone has to do something.
Players will step in as the heir to Azuria and the sole Rathalos Rider in the kingdom. As the leaders of the Rangers, it isn’t enough just to do your duties anymore. The strange phenomena that have afflicted the world have to be stopped, and thankfully, there is some help.
Along for the ride will be Eleanor, the princess of Vermeil. She initially offered herself as a hostage to stave off war. Still, she soon became a trusted ally alongside the Rangers on the journey to discover the truth and the mysterious intentions of the Queen of Vermeil. Players can count on the Monsties of the pair, with the protagonist joined by Ratha, one of the twin Rathalos, while Eleanor has Angie, her beloved Anjanath.
With the fate of the world at stake, it remains to be seen just what else awaits in the world of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. We will soon find out as Capcom ramps up to the eventual launch of the game next year.
