Nintendo Switch 2 Southeast Asia Launch Set Between July and September 2025

Nintendo Switch 2 Southeast Asia Launch Set Between July and September 2025

After a long wait, Nintendo has finally unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2 in greater detail during the recent Nintendo Direct. The one-hour session provided not only a range of information about upcoming games — whether from first-party or third-party developers — but also a closer look at the console itself. Launch dates and prices were also revealed, but for players in Southeast Asia, there is more of a wait.

In an official blog post, Nintendo has outlined its plans for the Southeast Asian market, with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 marking a significant investment in the region. While the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled for release in other regions on June 5, Southeast Asian gamers will have to wait a bit longer, as the console is set to arrive between July and September.

Unfortunately, not all Southeast Asian countries will receive an official launch. Nintendo has specified that only four countries, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, will have access to the official release. The company did not provide a clear explanation for why other countries, including Indonesia, were excluded from the rollout.

Pricing details have yet to be announced, but Nintendo has confirmed that it will bring official Nintendo Switch Online services and the Nintendo eShop to support the console in the region. This is big news, as for years, fans in parts of the region have had to rely on unofficial imports and accounts for other countries, but this new approach signals a more substantial commitment to the market.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will be available in two versions: a standard model priced at US$449.99 and a bundle version, which includes Mario Kart World, priced at US$499.99. This expansion of Nintendo’s markets and strategy for Southeast Asia will ensure a bigger presence for even more players, and that is always a good thing.
