Team Ninja Confirms Nioh 3 Release Date and New Story Trailer

A Tale of Brothers in Conflict

Koei Tecmo and developer Team Ninja have announced that Nioh 3 will launch on February 6, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam as part of the State of Play presentation. Pre-orders are now open, and a new cinematic story trailer directed by Shinji Higuchi has been unveiled to mark the occasion.

Set against the backdrop of Japan’s Sengoku period, Nioh 3 introduces players to Tokugawa Takechiyo, the heir to the shogunate. His younger brother, Tokugawa Kunimatsu, consumed by resentment, conspires to overthrow him with the aid of dark forces and a legion of yokai.

The clash between the brothers threatens to plunge Japan into chaos, forcing Takechiyo to draw upon the mystical power of his guardian spirit, Kusanagi, to survive and claim his destiny.

Expanding the World of Nioh

The game’s narrative will unfold across multiple eras and regions, including Edo Castle, the Tōtōmi region, and the newly revealed Kyoto of the Heian period. Players will be able to explore these environments through an open-field structure, a first for the series, encountering yokai, historical figures, and fearsome trials such as the Crucible.

Famed warriors like Takeda Shingen, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, and Minamoto no Yoritomo will appear in Nioh 3, alongside returning favourites such as Hattori Hanzo and Honda Tadakatsu. The cast also includes Tao Tsuchiya as Himiko, queen of Yamatai-koku, and Kanata Hongo as Kunimatsu Tokugawa.

Editions and Bonuses Available at Launch

Nioh 3 will launch with several versions. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, bonus armour sets, the Infernal Weapons pack, and a Season Pass covering two DLC expansions. A SteelBook Edition will also be available, featuring exclusive bonus content. All editions include a limited-time early purchase bonus redeemable via the PlayStation Store and Steam.

Nioh 3 will be available globally on February 6, 2026, featuring Japanese and English voiceovers and text localisations in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
