No Rest for the Wicked’s Ambitious Co-Op Update Arrives This Month

Moon Studios Prepares a Major Co-Op Evolution for No Rest for the Wicked

Moon Studios is preparing players for a new world of hurt, and a new trailer for No Rest for the Wicked Together, the long-awaited co-op multiplayer update for its action RPG, has just dropped. The update is scheduled to launch on January 22, and represents one of the most substantial expansions for the Early Access title.

First revealed in December during the studio’s Wicked Inside developer presentation, the new trailer offers a deeper look at how multiplayer will fundamentally reshape the experience of exploring the dangerous world of Isola Sacra.

A Persistent Realm Designed for Shared Play

Unlike traditional co-op systems seen in many ARPGs and MMORPGs, No Rest for the Wicked Together introduces a shared, persistent Realm that can be accessed by up to four players without requiring a host to be online. This approach allows groups to progress organically, making the world feel more lived-in and continuous rather than session-based.

Moon Studios has also reworked elements of its soulslike combat to better accommodate multiplayer. Enemies now react dynamically to being surrounded or overwhelmed, while carefully curated enemy placements are intended to keep encounters unpredictable even for experienced players.

Cooperation Beyond Combat

Alongside the multiplayer overhaul, the update also introduces a wide range of quality-of-life improvements, refining systems across combat, progression, and exploration to support both solo and cooperative play.

No Rest for the Wicked marks Moon Studios’ third full-length project, following Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Players step into the role of a Cerim, a holy warrior tasked with eradicating the Pestilence, a corrupting force threatening the already fractured island of Isola Sacra.

The game blends tense, methodical combat with deep crafting systems, character progression, and homestead upgrades, all presented through Moon Studios’ signature painterly art style.

No Rest for the Wicked Together Gameplay

No Rest for the Wicked Together launches on January 22 for the Early Access version of the game on PC. The update is positioned as a major milestone in the title’s ongoing development, signalling Moon Studios’ commitment to expanding the game’s systems while preserving its deliberate, challenging identity.
