Octopath Traveler 0 Physical Edition Launches December 4 on Switch 2 and PS5

Square Enix and Bandai Namco have officially confirmed the physical release of Octopath Traveler 0, the newest entry in the beloved HD-2D RPG series. The retail edition will be available in stores on December 4 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5, with digital versions arriving simultaneously across multiple platforms.

A Standalone Prequel to the Acclaimed Series

Octopath Traveler 0 serves as a standalone prequel set before the events of the original Octopath Traveler. The game follows an all-new story of “restoration and retribution” across the realm of Orsterra, as players compete for the power of the divine rings.

For the first time in the series, players can customise their protagonist and rebuild their destroyed hometown, adding a new layer of personal storytelling to the turn-based RPG experience. The game preserves the series’ signature HD-2D art style, Path Actions, and Break and Boost combat system while introducing reinterpreted story beats and expanded exploration elements inspired by Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
