With its limited-time playtest now over, it’s time to get down to the actual business of eliminating the big bad wolves. LIFUEL‘s take on the roguelike genre with a twist, Ovis Loop, is setting its sights on an Early Access launch on Steam on August 14.
Dropping a release date trailer, the team took the chance to show off again why this indie title is well worth noting in just a few short weeks. Against the backdrop of a gorgeous pixel art aesthetic, it’s time to uncover the story behind an AI robot called Omega, which lost its memory and was transformed into a sheep on a mission to save itself and the world from hordes of hungry wolves controlled by Dr. Wolf.
That means plenty of fluid and kinetic combat to save the day, but that doesn’t mean you’ll have it easy in Ovis Loop. The game promises danger in all sorts of shapes and sizes, including sniper wolves that can strike from the shadows, to mecha-wolves that will use the latest tech to try and take you down.
Flipping the Script in Ovis Loop

Other than depending on your combat skills, there is another way for you to stack the odds in your woolly favour. The main character can hack and transform their base skills, opening up all sorts of possibilities when it comes to a loadout.
Fallen enemies become avenues in which you can pick up powerful new skills, ensuring that no run is ever the same in the game. Finding that right mix that suit your playstyle can make a world of difference in Ovis Loop.
“We know this isn’t a battle a single sheep can win, but we hope you will. Our love for pixel-action is shown in every element, from the detailed backdrops to the satisfying combat. Ovis Loop is the culmination of four years of hard work,” shared the team.
