Sometimes, it’s not always about a sequel that can get fans of a video game franchise excited. And yes, while it would have been nice to get the third entry finally, the announcement of the Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted remaster from EA and PopCap Studios is still worth celebrating.
The classic backyard battles of vegetation holding back a horde of quirky zombies are back and looking better than ever. New HD graphics, local co-op play, PvP modes, and even more content ensure that this isn’t the war you remember fighting back in 2009.
More importantly, you won’t have to wait too long before you can begin the fight. Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is slated to launch on October 23 on PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
What’s New in Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted?
Diving deeper into what’s in store, the strategic battles and game modes will include new elements that promise to surprise and give players more to chew on:
- Team up with a friend for local co-op or play against each other in PvP mode for a chaotic, unforgettable adventure.
- Test your brainz in Cloudy Day Mode, a brand new game feature limiting sunlight and planting abilities for a unique challenge.
- Enjoy classic minigames along with the series’ signature lane-based defence mode.
- Discover a treasure trove of never-before-seen Plants vs. Zombies archive content to understand how Plants vs. Zombies took over the world!
It would be interesting to see just how co-op works, as well as the PvP experience. One side would certainly have to be the zombies, and considering the historical track record, getting a win over the plants can be a tall ask.

Pre-orders for the game have already begun, and early adopters will be rewarded with a Peashooter 8-bit skin to tap into that nostalgia.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted will release on October 23 on PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
