PlayStation Introduces Hyperpop Collection for PS5 Accessories
Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed the Hyperpop Collection, a new lineup of PlayStation 5 console covers and DualSense wireless controllers designed to bring bold, vibrant visuals to PlayStation gaming setups.
The collection, unveiled via the official PlayStation Blog, features three distinct neon colourways and is set to launch on March 12, with pre-orders opening on January 16.
The Hyperpop Collection builds on Sony’s accessory ecosystem by offering aesthetic options beyond traditional solid colours, emphasising bright gradients and glossy finishes that reflect RGB-inspired design trends increasingly popular with gaming setups.
Three Striking Colourways: Techno Red, Remix Green, Rhythm Blue
Players can choose from three themed colour schemes:
- Techno Red, a vivid crimson tone that stands out on display.
- Remix Green, a bold neon green that adds an energetic touch.
- Rhythm Blue, a deep, dynamic blue designed to complement modern setups.
Each DualSense controller and corresponding console cover combines glossy black surfaces with neon gradients, creating a visual effect described by Sony’s design team as “taking over the room.”
Design Insights From PlayStation’s Creative Team
According to members of Sony’s Colour, Material, and Finish team, the Hyperpop Collection draws direct inspiration from RGB lighting trends found in enthusiast gaming setups. Vice President Isabelle Tomatis said the collection’s colours introduce “an all-new aesthetic” to users’ gaming environments, while designer Leo Cardoso explained that the aim was to create designs that “don’t just stand out, they take over the room.”
Designer Sae Kobayashi added that the seamless gradient wraps around both the front and back of the controllers, finished in a high-gloss coat “that makes the colours POP more than ever,” with matching console covers featuring subtle transparency effects to complete the look.
Availability and Pricing
The Hyperpop DualSense wireless controllers will carry a recommended retail price of SGD 119 / MYR 419 / IDR 1,549,000 / THB 2,890 / PHP 4,890 / VND 2,399,000, while the matching PS5 console covers will be priced at SGD 107 / MYR 369 / IDR 1,359,000 / THB 2,590 / PHP 4,290 / VND 2,099,000 depending on region.
Availability may vary by country, and quantities of console covers will be limited in select markets. Pre-orders open on January 16 at participating retailers, ahead of the March 12 launch date.
