REANIMAL Opens Nintendo Switch 2 Demo With 30 Days to Go Before Launch

REANIMAL Enters Final Month With Switch 2 Demo

With just 30 days remaining until launch, THQ Nordic and Tarsier Studios have opened the doors to a new audience for REANIMAL. The game’s demo is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, expanding its reach ahead of the full release on February 13 across Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The milestone arrives as REANIMAL surpasses one million demo downloads worldwide, reinforcing its position as one of the most closely watched releases of 2026.

Strong Momentum Ahead of Release

The growing interest in REANIMAL has led to consistent recognition across the industry. The game has appeared on multiple “Most Anticipated Games of 2026” lists, earning attention from outlets such as IGN, The Guardian, Rock Paper Shotgun, Screen Rant, Wccftech, GamingBible, The Sixth Axis, and ComicBook.com.

According to Tarsier Studios CEO Oliver Merlöv, the response to the demo has been energising for the team as development enters its final stretch. He noted that the studio is now fully focused on delivering the complete experience when the game launches next month.

What Players Can Expect From the Demo

The REANIMAL demo offers a slice of the game’s opening moments, introducing players to its co-op survival structure and unsettling tone. Players step into the roles of two orphaned siblings, simply known as The Boy and The Girl, as they reunite and begin searching for their missing friends.

Early sections take place in eerie locations such as the Mill and the Trainyard, gradually revealing the first hints of the dark mystery underpinning the world. Designed for cooperative play, the demo emphasises atmosphere, exploration, and shared survival rather than combat-driven progression.

REANIMAL launches on February 13 for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. With its demo now available across all platforms, the final month before release marks the last major opportunity for players to experience the game ahead of launch.
