Resident Evil 0 Remake Rumoured as “Project Chamber” Emerges from Capcom
The Resident Evil franchise shows no sign of slowing down. With the critical success of Resident Evil 4 Remake and the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem on the horizon, Capcom appears ready to keep alternating between new entries and modern reimaginings.
The latest in that pipeline could be a revival of Resident Evil 0, with new evidence suggesting it’s already in development.
“Project Chamber” Leak Reveals Early Details
According to a report from MP1st, a publication with a reliable track record on Capcom-related leaks, the Resident Evil 0 Remake is currently being developed under the internal codename “Project Chamber.” The title is believed to reference Resident Evil 0’s protagonist, Rebecca Chambers.
The first hint came via the now-deleted résumé of voice actor Jon McLaren, best known for his role as Star-Lord in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Archived via the Wayback Machine, his résumé explicitly listed “Project Chamber”, which is described as an upcoming AAA video game under his recent work credits.

Casting Hints and Studio Connections
McLaren is rumoured to be portraying Billy Coen, the male lead from the 2002 original. Further details strengthen the case: his résumé also mentioned Beyond Capture Studios, a motion-capture partner previously involved in Resident Evil 4 Remake and Street Fighter 6, both Capcom titles.
Given the shared studio pipeline and recurring collaborators, many industry observers now consider it likely that Project Chamber is indeed the long-rumoured Resident Evil 0 Remake.
Expanding the Story Beyond the Train
According to sources cited by MP1st, the remake will significantly expand the original story to deliver a more cinematic and emotionally driven experience. In particular, the train engineer — a minor NPC in the original — is said to have a larger narrative role, potentially adding new layers to the doomed Ecliptic Express journey that opened the 2002 classic.
This direction aligns with Capcom’s recent trend of deepening characterisation and rewriting key events to suit modern storytelling expectations better, as seen in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 Remake.
No Official Announcement — Yet
Capcom has not issued any official statement regarding the project. For now, the studio’s focus appears to remain on Resident Evil Requiem, but if Project Chamber is indeed real, fans could expect a formal announcement sometime in 2026.
Given Capcom’s track record of alternating between new releases and remakes, Resident Evil 0 may soon be the next piece of the franchise’s ongoing resurrection — bringing Rebecca and Billy back into the spotlight for a new generation of players.
