From a studio once primarily known for its popular mobile games, Shift Up has successfully proven its capabilities on the console stage. The success of Stellar Blade, first launched on PlayStation 5 and slated to arrive on PC in June 2025, serves as a strong testament to the studio’s evolution and ambition. Unsurprisingly, the commercial and critical successes of this new IP, featuring charismatic protagonist EVE, mean Shift Up is keen to repeat the process with Stellar Blade 2.
Following its highly successful IPO in South Korea, which propelled CEO Kim Hyung-Tae into the list of the country’s 50 wealthiest individuals, Shift Up has already begun progress with its future plans. Among those is a new and still-mysterious title currently under the codename Project Witches. However, Project Witches is not the only major project in the pipeline.
In their latest official business roadmap, Shift Up disclosed an unexpected but welcome development. On page 19 of the document, under the section discussing Stellar Blade, the company not only talk about the game’s upcoming expansion to PC but also explicitly mentions plans for a direct sequel. This confirms that Stellar Blade 2 is indeed in development.

Even more exciting is the timeline attached to this announcement. The roadmap clearly states that Stellar Blade 2 is targeted for release before the year 2027. This positions the sequel as one of two major titles alongside Project Witches that is scheduled to launch within the same general timeframe.
While Shift Up has never officially discussed a sequel in detail, the narrative and lore of Stellar Blade offer plenty of fertile ground for continuation. With the first game laying a solid foundation both in gameplay and world-building, expectations are now high for what Stellar Blade 2 could bring.
For now, fans can look forward to the PC version of the original title in mid-2025, while keeping a close eye on Shift Up’s expanding ambitions in the AAA console gaming space.
