Dispatch Becomes One of 2025’s Highest-Rated Narrative Games
AdHoc Studio’s Dispatch has officially passed one million copies sold on Steam and the PlayStation Store, a milestone achieved just ten days after release. The studio also dropped Episodes 5 and 6 this week, setting up the story’s final stretch before its season finale on November 12.
The superhero workplace comedy currently boasts a 9.3 User Score on Metacritic, 93% positive reviews on Steam from over 19,000 users, and a 4.95 out of 5 rating on the PlayStation Store. Together, these figures cement Dispatch as one of the highest-rated narrative titles of the year.
AdHoc Reflects on a Breakout Moment
“It’s always a little strange when the numbers get so big you have to talk about them,” said Michael Choung, Executive Producer and CEO at AdHoc Studio. “Milestones like this matter. They mean AdHoc will be able to make more story-driven episodic originals, and we hope it means it’ll be easier for other devs to do the same. Hard to believe we’re only halfway done.”
Choung’s comment hints that the first season may only be the beginning for AdHoc’s growing narrative ambitions.

A Superhero Comedy With a Telltale Legacy
Developed by veterans from Telltale Games, Ubisoft, and Night School Studio, Dispatch brings a lighter, comedic twist to the narrative adventure format. Players step into the role of Robert Robertson, a retired superhero once known as Mecha Man.
After losing his mech-suit in a climactic battle, Robert now oversees a rehabilitation programme for ex-supervillains, which is another way of putting together a chaotic crew of reformed heroes, each with their own quirks and baggage.
Episodes 5 and 6 bring the story closer to its conclusion, as players balance team management, moral decisions, and personal redemption against a workplace full of chaos.
The season finale launches on November 12, concluding the first major arc of Dispatch’s debut season. The game is available now on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, where it continues to draw praise for its writing, humour, and character-driven storytelling.
