Monster Hunter Outlanders Gameplay Debuts at Tokyo Game Show 2025
First Look at Hunting on Mobile
TiMi Studio Group, in partnership with Capcom, has unveiled the first full gameplay footage of Monster Hunter Outlanders during Tokyo Game Show 2025. The mobile title, coming to iOS and Android, brings the series’ trademark hunting action to a new platform with mechanics adapted for touch controls.
The debut trailer highlighted an expansive new island setting where players battle classic monsters alongside fresh threats. Combat retains the core rhythm of Monster Hunter while introducing simplified one-button controls designed to keep hunts fast and responsive on mobile.
Companions and Exploration Systems
The footage also introduced the default protagonist known as the Adventurer, as well as the buddy system that will shape hunts in Outlanders. Familiar ally Palico returns, joined by newcomers Rutaco and Trillan, each with unique abilities that evolve through training. These companions add tactical depth while giving hunts a personal flair in Monster Hunter Outlanders.
Exploration will be key, with crafting systems enabling players to gather resources and uncover secrets across Aesoland’s varied landscapes. Terrain and weather play a role in shaping encounters, while crafting unlocks items critical for survival and progression.
Radiant Species Take the Spotlight
One of the most striking elements of the gameplay debut was the reveal of Radiant Species, monsters mutated by the island’s rare mineral Radiantite. These creatures show altered appearances and heightened aggression, creating unpredictable challenges during hunts.

TiMi confirmed that a closed beta will begin in November across select regions, with sign-ups available now through the official Monster Hunter Outlanders website. Attendees at Tokyo Game Show can also try the first playable demo at the Level Infinite and Capcom booths.
