The Blood of Dawnwalker Reveals New Gameplay With Major Community Led Improvements

New Gameplay Footage Showcases Combat and Exploration

Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves have released the first extended look at The Blood of Dawnwalker, the dark fantasy RPG set in the fourteenth century across the remote region of Vale Sangora.

The game follows Coen, a man transformed into a Dawnwalker who lives as a human during the day and becomes a vampire at night. His goal is to rescue his family from the vampiric feudal lords who have seized control of the land.

The newly released gameplay video offers the clearest picture yet of the game’s atmosphere, worldbuilding, and combat systems.

Improvements Based on Community Feedback

Rebel Wolves confirmed that the footage reflects a series of adjustments made directly in response to early community impressions of The Blood of Dawnwalker. These include refinements to the flow of combat, changes to camera placement, and broader mechanical improvements across traversal and ability use.

The studio notes that these revisions aim to enhance player clarity during fights and create a smoother sense of movement across environments.

Investigating Svartrau Cathedral

The gameplay segment, narrated by writer Ariana Siarkiewicz, follows Coen during an investigation around Svartrau Cathedral, one of the region’s eerie focal points. This is also what the press saw during Gamescom 2025.

The footage highlights dynamic encounters with both human foes and supernatural creatures, while weaving in details about Dawnwalker lore and the wider mythology of Vale Sangora.

Svartrau Cathedral showcases the game’s blend of medieval architecture and occult influence, framed through the power shift caused by vampiric rule. The reveal aims to give players a taste of the tension between daylight exploration and the dangers that awaken at night in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Developed in Unreal Engine 5

The Blood of Dawnwalker is being built in Unreal Engine 5, benefitting from advanced lighting, detailed environments, and a focus on atmospheric presentation.

The Blood of Dawnwalker will launch on PlayStation 5Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026.
