Adorable Narrative Sim The Last Gas Station Gets Steam Demo

The Last Gas Station Demo Goes Live on Steam

Publisher and developer Alawar has confirmed that The Last Gas Station will feature its first public demo during February’s Steam Next Fest. Players can download the demo now ahead of the event, which runs from February 23 to March 2.

The narrative-driven simulation game casts players as a red panda tasked with reviving a near-obsolete petrol station in a world increasingly dominated by electric vehicles.

Modernising a Forgotten Pitstop

At its core, The Last Gas Station blends traditional business management mechanics with a story-heavy structure. Players will tear out outdated pumps, install new vehicle services such as tyre inflation and oil changes, and gradually expand the roadside business into a fully operational pitstop.

Beyond fuel, the adjoining convenience store can be stocked with snacks, car supplies and travel essentials. Layout optimisation, décor upgrades and price management all factor into profitability, while players handle trading, restocking and running the checkout to keep customers satisfied.

Something Strange After Sunset

While daylight hours focus on growth and operations, night introduces a more mysterious tone. Unusual events begin to unfold after dark. Players can choose to investigate the whispers surrounding the station or ignore them entirely and focus on keeping the lights on until morning.

The game also features extensive customisation options, allowing players to design neon signage, decorate interiors and reshape the once-forgotten corner of its animal-inhabited world.

The Last Gas Station does not yet have a confirmed release date, but the Steam demo offers an early look at its mix of management systems and unsettling narrative elements.
