A Major Talent Move in the RPG Scene
Once considered a niche series, Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has quickly become one of 2025’s standout RPGs. With significant gameplay improvements and a compelling story, the sequel has surpassed expectations and emerged as a surprise contender for Game of the Year.
Amid that success, one of its key creative leads is stepping into a new chapter. As reported by Euorgamer, Karel Kolmann, a veteran designer at Warhorse Studios, has officially joined CD Projekt Red to work on The Witcher IV.
From Warhorse to CD Projekt Red
Kolmann has spent the past eight years at Warhorse Studios, where he contributed as a writer, scripter, and senior game designer before taking on the role of Lead Gameplay Designer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Hardcore Mode.
Starting today, he joins CD Projekt Red as a Senior Quest Designer for The Witcher IV.

Kolmann’s background in crafting intricate quest structures and immersive gameplay loops has already sparked optimism among fans eager to see how his expertise will influence the upcoming Witcher title, which is widely rumoured to feature Ciri as its main protagonist.
The Witcher IV’s Development Moves Forward
CD Projekt Red has not yet provided a release window for The Witcher IV, but early internal feedback has reportedly praised its visual fidelity and world detail, powered by Unreal Engine 5.
With new creative hires like Kolmann joining the project, enthusiasm surrounding the game’s quest design and world-building continues to grow. The studio appears intent on learning from past lessons and shaping a next-generation Witcher experience that captures the series’ signature depth and narrative strength.
