Unannounced Persona 4 Remake Seemingly Confirmed by Voice Actors

Persona 4 Remake Indirectly Confirmed Through Voice Actors' Statements

What exactly is ATLUS working on right now? The answer doesn’t appear to be Persona 6, even despite intense anticipation for the next mainline entry. For now, the studio seems to be investing its energy in various other projects. The success of the modernised re-release of Persona 3: Reload appears to have inspired ATLUS to explore this side of the business further. And the noise is that a Persona 4 remake might be the next in line for such treatment.

While SEGA and ATLUS have yet to issue an official statement, mounting evidence now makes it increasingly difficult to deny that a Persona 4 Remake is indeed in development. The latest clue comes from not one, but two voice actors who have worked on the game.

Whether due to an oversight or something more deliberate, renowned voice actor Yuri Lowenthal casually mentioned that he would not be reprising his role as Yosuke Hanamura in a Persona 4 Remake in a now-deleted post.

This comment, despite its casual delivery, sent waves through the community, as the Persona 4 Remake has not yet been officially announced. Many are viewing Yuri’s statement as an indirect confirmation that ATLUS is indeed working on the title, and possibly recasting its English voice cast in the process.

Lowenthal isn’t the only voice actor to speak up. Responding to the discussion, the original voice of Chie Satonaka, Erin Fitzgerald, also confirmed that she would not be returning for the remake. Amanda Winn Lee, the original voice behind Yukiko Amagi, also joined in to echo the same sentiments.

These back-to-back announcements, shared across various social media platforms, have sparked a mix of excitement and speculation among fans. Some suspect that the responses from Fitzgerald and Lee might have been tongue-in-cheek, intended to poke fun at Lowenthal’s slip-up.

Others, however, have noted that the announcements followed the exact order in which the characters join the Investigation Team in-game, fueling theories that this may be part of a calculated marketing strategy by ATLUS and SEGA.

For those asking, I have not been asked to reprise my role as Chie Satonaka in the Persona 4 remake.RIP 😭😭😭😭😭😭I am blessed to have recorded as many Persona 4 games as I did playing her.

For now, at the time of this writing, the existence of Persona 4 Remake remains shrouded in mystery. However, these voice actor revelations have certainly breathed new life into hopes that the beloved title may be making a modern comeback.
