As the development scene continues to prosper in China, with the likes of Phantom Blade Zero and Tides of Annihilation catching the eye, many are also eagerly looking forward to Everstone Studio and NetEase Games‘ Where Winds Meet. The highly anticipated Wuxia open-world action adventure RPG has impressed thus far, and it is now confirmed that the game will launch sometime in 2025.
First revealed in 2022 at Gamescom, it has been a long time to wait for those interested in the game. To give players a chance to experience snippets of the adventure, the studio is preparing an exclusive Closed Beta test on PC and PlayStation 5 starting on May 16.
Sign-ups for the CBT have already begun, and players in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Korea can now join this exciting adventure through the official registration channel. The beta test will support multiple languages, including English, Japanese, and Korean, to ensure that a diverse range of players can participate and share valuable feedback.
Where Winds Meet is set during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period of Chinese history, players will take on the role of a young sword master on a journey to uncover the mysteries of their identity. This means embarking on unique adventures and writing their own epic story in a volatile historical era teeming with possibilities.
The open world is ripe with historical and cultural richness. With seamless landscapes and breathtaking vistas, players will venture through diverse regions, from the tranquil countryside surrounded by majestic wilderness, through mysterious caves and treacherous canyons, to lively cities teeming with life and spectacle.
As the game invites players to uncover the mystique of Wuxia martial arts, players can craft and customise their characters and progression, utilising a unique eastern combat system inspired by Wuxia, with a myriad of familiar and exotic weapons and skills to unlock and upgrade. Engage in direct close-quarters combat, wielding an arsenal of weapons such as Spear, Sword, Dual Blades, Glaive, Umbrella, and Fans, and unlock distinctive martial arts skills including Acupuncture Hitting, Lion’s Roar, Merciful Picking, Tai Chi, and so on.
Where Winds Meet will launch on PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices in 2025.
