SEGA Shares New Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Details Ahead of February 2026 Release
SEGA and RGG Studio have released an extensive new update for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, outlining fresh gameplay systems, character interactions, and narrative activities players can expect when the collection launches on February 12, 2026 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
The newly revealed features deepen both sides of the package, with Kiryu’s domestic life taking centre stage in Kiwami 3 and Mine’s rising influence shaping the core loop of Dark Ties.
A Fuller Look at Kiryu’s Morning Glory Life
Yakuza Kiwami 3 expands Kiryu’s caretaker role at Morning Glory Orphanage, with a suite of activities designed to strengthen his bond with the children who live under his care. Daily life ranges from cooking and gardening to fishing, bug-catching, and helping with homework. These interactions directly feed into character growth, improving Kiryu’s abilities the more he invests in the orphans’ well-being.
A new Family Time system supports each child’s individual storyline, bringing out personal worries, ambitions, and emotional arcs that Kiryu must help them navigate. As he earns their trust, the Daddy Rank increases, unlocking new recipes, chores, and narrative moments that bring humour and warmth to the usually hard-edged Dragon of Dojima.
Morning Glory also includes a wide selection of mini-games, from sewing and timed bug-catching challenges to Homework sessions, Fishing, Dragon Reversi, and kitchen tasks. Items crafted or harvested can be sold at the Morning Glory Market, with proceeds used to upgrade the orphanage and enrich daily life on the island as you progress in Yakuza Kiwami 3.
Dark Ties Introduces Mine’s PR Campaign and Rising Influence
On the other side of the collection, Dark Ties shifts focus to Mine as he attempts to repair and elevate Kanda’s chaotic public image. Through the newly revealed Kanda Damage Control missions, players will take on requests across Kamurocho, solving personal and sometimes heavy problems faced by the city’s citizens. Each success gradually boosts Kanda’s public perception and raises the stakes of Mine’s role within the organisation.
Completing these tasks opens up Drink Links, a series of scenes that deepen Mine’s complicated relationship with Kanda. These exchanges reveal unexpected insecurities behind Kanda’s bravado, raising new questions about loyalty and the direction of his ambition.
Beyond high-level missions, players can also engage in Good Deed Quests and smaller civilian rescue activities, helping distressed townsfolk and tackling incidents around Kamurocho. Performance in these missions contributes to the overall Charisma Rank, which tracks Kanda’s evolving reputation from the abysmal “Actually Trash” to the near-mythic “Actually God”. The journey hints at meaningful character development woven into the chaos.
Looking Ahead to February
With Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties shaping up to deliver layered stories and meaningful character moments, this latest update gives players a clearer vision of the dual narrative approach. SEGA and RGG continue to refine the collection ahead of launch, and further details are expected as the February release draws near.
