Zlatan FC Makes Its Digital Debut

Electronic Arts has confirmed Zlatan FC, a team entirely based on Zlatan Ibrahimović, will arrive in EA Sports FC 26. The side allows players to take control of the Swedish icon across every position on the pitch, from goalkeeper to striker.

The club will be available globally at launch this September, with Ultimate Edition players gaining early access from September 19.

The announcement makes real one of Ibrahimović’s boldest claims: that he could play in all 11 positions. For the first time, fans can now put that claim to the test in a football game.

Zlatan on Playing Every Position

“Zlatan is pleased to finally be able to express himself in all areas of the pitch,” Ibrahimović said. “Fans will no longer have to decide who to play in what position, because they will have the best player available – me.”

Known for his outspoken persona, Ibrahimović enjoyed a prolific career across Europe and North America. His larger-than-life character has now been immortalised in digital form through a team where Zlatan does it all. Who would have thought you would ever see him defend with as much gusto as when he scores a goal?

EA Sports Celebrates the Zlatan Phenomenon

James Salmon, senior director of the EA Sports FC franchise, called the team’s addition a response to fan demand: “Our community have long clamoured for Zlatan to return to FC, and we’re excited for fans to take control of this illustrious club and its notable players such as Zlatan, Zlatan, and Zlatan.”

Zlatan FC will also sport a bespoke kit and logo, with a bold “Z” design meant to symbolise Ibrahimović’s career-long evolution.

Players can find this special team in Kick Off mode under the “Rest of World” category. This ensures fans can easily pick the team for casual matches with friends or simply revel in the novelty of commanding a squad made up entirely of Ibrahimović.

With the striker already confirmed as an ICON as part of the game, this unique team adds a playful twist to the game’s otherwise authenticity-focused roster.

EA Sports FC 26 launches on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 this September 26, with Early Access starting on September 19.
