Konami and Bloober Team to Collaborate on a New Game Following Silent Hill 2 Success

Konami’s decision to appoint Bloober Team as the developer for Silent Hill 2 Remake initially raised concerns. While the studio has experience in horror games, its track record has been inconsistent, leading some to question whether they were the right choice to handle the revival of such a beloved franchise. However, the game’s positive reception and multiple nominations at The Game Awards 2024 have helped dispel some doubts. And Konami and Bloober Team are ready to collaborate once again.

In a recent press release, Bloober Team announced that they will be working with Konami on a new game. The project will be based on one of Konami’s existing franchises, though no further details have been revealed at this time. Fans are left to speculate which franchise is next in line for a revival or reinterpretation.

Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno acknowledged that he couldn’t share much about the project yet but expressed confidence that fans would be excited once they learned more. He reassured that the team is committed to delivering a high-quality experience and that more details would be revealed when the time is right.

“Our collaboration with Konami has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself. By sharing knowledge and experience, we have been able to create high-quality production together. Of course, we can’t reveal too many details at this time, but we are confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are. We can’t wait to share something truly special with players when the time is right,” said Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team.

Given the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake, many believe this new project could be another entry in the Silent Hill franchise. Whether it is an entirely new instalment, another remake, or a reimagining of an older title remains to be seen. However, Konami has a vast catalogue of classic franchises, so there is always the possibility that the collaboration will explore something beyond Silent Hill.

In addition to this partnership, Bloober Team is also developing an original survival horror title, Cronos: The New Dawn. Featuring a time-travel concept, the game is set to launch in 2025, further solidifying Bloober Team’s commitment to the horror genre.
