If you have been eagerly waiting for your chance to try out Capcom‘s next big game, Monster Hunter Wilds, but have yet to do so at conventions like Tokyo Game Show or Gamescom Asia, fret not. A limited Open Beta Test will soon commence, and you can already start pre-loading if you intend to play on PlayStation 5.
This exclusive early access play period for PlayStation Plus members will take place from Tuesday, October 29, at 11:00 AM (GMT+8) to Thursday, October 31, at 10:59 AM (GMT+8). Following that, players can participate on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam for PC from Friday, November 1, at 11:00 AM (GMT+8) to Monday, November 4 2024, at 10:59 AM (GMT+8).
The Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test will allow players to partake in the game’s character
creation mode, which will carry over to the main game. As for the actual gameplay, you will be able to experience the starting of the story with the tutorials up to the hunt for the Chatacabra. The Doshaguma Hunt Quest will also be available.
All players who participate in the Open Beta Test will be rewarded with the Palico Teddy pendant as well as an item pack for use in the full game.
The announcement of the Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds was shared during the latest showcase, during which we learned more about the monsters, environments, and other inhabitants of the wild. This included first looks at Oilwell Basin, a place where oil seeps and accumulates, and at times fierce flames rage. In this area, an unusual phenomenon occurs where intense fires ignite the oil slicks, known as Firespring.
There is also the crafting village of Azuz, whose people are skilled in processing bones, ores, and refining oils, techniques that have been passed down since ancient times. Of course, there are also fearsome monsters to hunt, and we saw the likes of the Fanged Beast Ajarakan, the Brute Wyvern Rompopolo, and The Black Flame ready to tear hunters apart.
The latest instalment in the series, Monster Hunter Wilds, will be released worldwide on February 28, 2025.
