More Dark Knight Anime Incoming As Batman Ninja Vs. Yakuza League Announced

It has been six years since we last saw the Caped Crusader leave the slums of Gotham City and venture into the Land of the Rising Sun in Batman Ninja, but now, Warner Bros. Japan is ready to open the gates once more. A sequel, Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League, has now been confirmed, and production is underway for another adventure for the hero.

Batman Ninja star Koichi Yamadera will be reprising his role as the Dark Knight, while director Junpei Mizusaki will also be returning for the sequel. He will be joined by Shinji Takagi as a co-director, with the screenplay being written by Kazuki Nakashima, another familiar name. For those who loved the feudal designs of the first movie, you’ll be glad to know that character designer Takashi Okazaki will be in charge once more.

The first film was centred around time displacement, when “Gorilla Grodd’s time displacement machine transports many of Batman’s worst enemies to feudal Japan – along with The Dark Knight and a few of his allies.” How things will play out in the sequel is still not clear, but from the title itself, we know that it will definitely involve the criminal world of the Yakuza.

For now, no release date has been set yet for Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League, but we will get more details about the anime movie at Anime Expo 2024, which will take place on July 4. Together with Suicide Squad Isekai, DC fans will have more to look forward to in the world of superheroes and supervillains soon.
