More League of Legends Stories to Come As Netflix's Arcane Ends with Season 2

Following a season of great storytelling, stunning visuals, and fans left wanting for more, Netflix is coming back strong with Season 2 of Arcane. However, the good news comes with some bad news as well, as the series will be ending when the new season rolls around this November.

The series’ debut in 2021 revealed the origins of the conflict between sisters Vi and Jinx, leading up to the explosive cliffhanger of the latter’s attack on the Piltover council. The latest teaser gave us a glimpse of just what will unfold in the upcoming season, and needless to say, sisterly warfare is not going to end well for either side as the refined city of Piltover goes to war with the seedy criminal underbelly that is Zaun.

The opposing powers of Piltover and Zau also include the likes of Caitlyn, Ekko, Heimerdinger, and Sevika, while the very familiar silhouette of Warwick means we are in for a treat when it comes to character dynamics and the development of the conflict.

For fans fearing that there will be no more of that storytelling goodness, fret not. Co-creator Christian Linke shared in a statement that “Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche.”

“From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”

Whether any of that future creations will live up to the promise of what the series has given fans remain to be seen, but if the right people are at the helm once more, then we are all the better for it.
