Palworld Developer Grants Employees Day off to Enjoy Monster Hunter Wilds Release

For gamers, the release day of a long-awaited title is always a special occasion. Your mind and attention are often entirely consumed by the excitement of finally playing the game. And that has led to all sorts of creative excuses on launch day to ensure you have all the time in the world to enjoy a big release. But for Pocketpair, the developers of Palworld, the company is taking on the responsibility instead as Monster Hunter Wilds quickly approaches.

As revealed on Twitter/X, the company is more than aware that its staff may have plans to jump into the latest adventure of Capcom instead of working, and it has taken the fun and unique step in granting a company-wide day off on launch day, February 28.

Terming it as a special holiday, the translated message reads: “For some reason, many employees have reported that they may be feeling unwell tomorrow, so tomorrow has been given as an extra day off.” While there is no explicit naming of Monster Hunter Wilds, the date and timing are too coincidental to ignore. Rather than put its employees under stress, Pocketpair have done something much more employee-friendly than most.

All employees can enjoy this day off, except for a few essential departments that need to remain operational. The company also reassured fans that this temporary leave would not affect updates or Palworld‘s development progress. Interestingly, this is not the first time Pocketpair has implemented such a policy, as they previously granted a similar special holiday for the release of Elden Ring.

Other businesses in other industries will likely never do this, but for those in the gaming space, this might be a great way to boost employee morale. Kudos to Pocketpair for leading the way.

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
