Phasmophobia 2025 Roadmap Teases Chronicle Update, New Gadget & More

Phasmophobia 2025

Kinetic Games, developer of popular ghost hunting simulator Phasmophobia, has just revealed their plans for the game going forward through the new year and more.

The roadmap provided on the Kinetic Games website is split into three categories: major updates, maps and reworks, and seasonal events. In the major updates section, the developers detailed their plans to launch the Chronicle Update, which would overhaul the evidence collection mechanics.

A new gadget called the Sound Recorder is also being added to the player’s arsenal. With it, the user interface is being modified, adding a new section to the player’s journal, reserved for sound and video recordings and photographs.

The next significant update is a Player Character Overhaul. This will allow players to customise their in-game characters with a myriad of new options and improved animations, with more to come. The New Map and Map Reworks segment discloses the planned release of a new map. The team intentionally withheld as much information as possible, only revealing that it is a smaller map with an entirely unique location unlike any seen in other Phasmophobia maps.

In addition to the new map, the developers also plan on reworking several preexisting maps, not just mechanically but also aesthetically. The maps stated to be receiving reworks are Bleasdale Farmhouse, Grafton Farmhouse, and 6 Tanglewood Drive.

In Seasonal Events, Kinetic Games states that they plan to release improved holiday events based on the feedback received from last year’s events. The planned events are the same as last year’s, with the addition of a new Easter event — however, the plan to improve these events with a reward system and a rotating map pool. The general gameplay will remain the same, but the new additions will help keep the experience fresh.

In addition to the roadmap, the developers added a footnote regarding their plans going into 2026. Not much information could be revealed, but what was revealed were plans for an update called Horror 2.0 and more reworks for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
