Astrobot
A new Astrobot game is in the works, which should be a pleasant surprise for many. Back in a super-sized space adventure, his biggest to date, players will explore six galaxies and over 80 levels in search of Astro’s scattered crew in this brand-new game.
To get help on his mission, Astro can use over 15 new abilities offering unique play styles. As you would expect from an Astro game, these take full advantage of the DualSense controller, its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers so you can feel every little step along the journey. Combined with improved Astro controls, these new powers take the Astro platforming experience to new heights, while remaining accessible for all.
The game launches this September 6, with pre-orders beginning June 7.
Monster Hunter Wilds
A new trailer for the upcoming action RPG details the rich, living world you’ll be able to explore when it releases on PS5 in 2025. As shared by Capcom, every locale, monster, and person acts with their own thoughts and motivations, combining dynamically to bring an immersive and constantly changing Monster Hunter ecosystem to life.
There’s also deeper immersion, as quests can begin seamlessly as you explore the world, with fully-voiced conversations now part of the fun. Monsters also act independently to survive in these harsh environments, so get ready for many surprises, including large-scale groups of monsters that move in herds and packs and interact with one another.
Monster Hunter Wilds is launching for PlayStation 5 in 2025.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Omega Force unleashes the largest battles ever seen in a Musou game in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, coming to PS5 in 2025. A nameless new hero emerges to fight for survival in intense Three Kingdoms hack-and-slash warfare.
In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the team is attempting to amplify the feeling of tension on the battlefield while also being able to deliver the epic sense of exhilaration after overcoming the odds in the most thrilling warfare by leveraging the PS5’s technology. With the overwhelming number and scale of enemy armies pushing towards you, you’ll have to act fast and with force if you want to survive. In addition to your own striking power, you’ll need to coordinate with allied armies and enjoy the tactical aspects of gameplay in order to take out the hoard of enemies in our most tension-filled fights to date.
For the first time in Dynasty Warriors franchise history, the chaos of the Three Kingdoms will be viewed from the eyes of a ‘nameless hero’. Play through the historical tale of war through the eyes of our new protagonist, showcasing the vast land of China and its timeless soldiers and generals like never before sometime in 2025.
God of War Ragnarök
At the State of Play presentation, God of War Ragnarök was revealed to be coming to PC on September 19. Concord
Firewalk Studios finally revealed the first look at the gameplay, universe, and characters of Concord, as well as how and when you’ll be able to get your hands on the 5v5 character-driven, first-person multiplayer shooter.
Concord was built as a love letter to aspirational sci-fi adventure, inspired by our favourite art, anime, films, and TV series. Combined with our deep love of multiplayer, we’re dedicated to creating those had-to-be-there, down-to-the-wire moments with your friends and creating a sense of adventure as you discover more about the galaxy, the characters you play as, and the worlds you visit every time you log on.
A beta is planned for later this year, followed by Concord’s global launch on PS5 and PC on August 23, 2024.
Until Dawn
Get a new look at the seminal horror classic, which has been rebuilt and enhanced for PS5 and PC. When eight friends return to the isolated lodge where two of their group vanished a year prior, fear tightens its icy grip, and their mountain retreat descends into a nightmare with no escape.
Skydance’s Behemoth
Skydance’s Behemoth is Skydance Games’s next monumental offering for PS VR2 and its follow-up effort to the award-winning The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners games. It is a first-person action-adventure VR title launching this Fall that combines brutal physics-based hand-to-hand combat with player traversal, environmental puzzle-solving, and larger-than-life boss battles.
Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile 2, the next-generation free-to-play action RPG from Grinding Gear Games, will be coming to PlayStation 5 with a great new feature: couch co-op. Join Early Access later this year.
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 2 is known for its gripping and multilayered storytelling, and that’s something Bloober Team wanted to preserve in the remake. The setting of some events may change, but their impact on the story will remain the same. Even when new locations are introduced, the team sought to refer to the original whenever possible so that returning players will feel right at home when they venture out into the foggy streets of Silent Hill again.
Silent Hill 2 launches on October 8 on PS5.
Alien: Rogue Incursion
More VR goodness in the State of Play presentation, the first next-gen Alien VR game, Alien: Rogue Incursion is a single-player, action-horror game featuring an all-new storyline. A high-tension shooter developed with Unreal Engine 5, players will need to stay frosty as they explore an overrun facility on the inhospitable planet Purdan.
While heart-pounding combat is the core of Alien: Rogue Incursion, grabbing your pulse rifle and blasting your way out of every situation is not always the best strategy. Constantly hunted by unpredictable and resourceful Xenomorphs, players will often find creativity and a level head to be their greatest weapons, especially when it comes to leveraging the environment to their advantage.
The new action-horror VR game is coming to PS VR2 Holiday 2024.
Marvel Rivals
In a new trailer drop by NetEase Games, we get to see two new characters join the hero shooter in the form of Adam Warlock and Venom. Out of the information provided, like details about superpowers, team-up abilities, game modes and maps, and environmental destruction, perhaps the biggest is that Marvel Rivals will be having its Closed Beta Test on PS5 in July 2024
Ballad of Antara
TipsWorks Studio from Infoldgames announced Ballad of Antara, a free-to-play fantasy action RPG, which is coming to PlayStation 5 in 2025.
For this new IP, the team set out to create a vast world, both in geological scale and cultural variation. In the normal version of this world, common folk reside. In another version of the world, peculiar sightings and encounters await, and this unimaginable part of the world is called Para. Fundamental essences of the living world are taken away and trapped inside the Para from the invasion of an ancient power, and that’s where our story begins.
Players will experience an adventure of two intertwined fates through exotic landscapes. For each new destination you travel to, you will explore a handcrafted gameplay space with intricate, exploration-oriented level design. Each destination has its own unique Para as its own unique essence is taken away, with drastically different biome, stories, heroes, and adversaries.
Infinity Nikki
Infinity Nikki is an open-world dress-up adventure game coming to PS5, with a beta test due later this year. Alongside Nikki, awaken the magical powers hidden within various outfits and embark on a journey filled with fun.
Where Winds Meet
Where Winds Meet, an epic Wuxia open-world action-adventure RPG set in ancient China, is bringing its martial arts mysteries to PS5 as revealed at the State of Play presentation.
Where Winds Meet is set in the period in Chinese history known as the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. For the team, this historical period offers an exciting opportunity – because it was a time of great turbulence and change and represents the perfect setting for a young hero to carve their path and discover their destiny.
There’s also a vast and seamless open world that will unfold before your eyes, revealing breathtaking landscapes. You’ll venture through different regions, rich in historical and cultural features, interacting with diverse local NPCs and revelling in the Wuxia influence. The team will also be optimising the game control for the PS5 DualSense controller, allowing users to navigate the martial arts mysteries and moves for a seamless and unforgettable adventure.
