Psychological Point & Click Horror Game Centum Arrives This March

Centum

Today, Serenity Forge and indie developer Hack The Publisher announced their next horror title, Centum, a surrealist point-and-click game set in a terrifying, warped reality. Alongside the trailer comes a release date of March 11, so the wait to jump in isn’t going to be too long.

Centum, much like other Serenity Forge titles, focuses on challenging the player’s perception through unreliable narration, unnerving character designs, NPCs that adapt to the player’s actions, and nonsensical timelines. The world is shrouded in mystery, with the players having to break free from imprisonment, only to find themselves back at square one each time they do so.

Finding themselves trapped in a prison cell, players will be tasked with solving numerous puzzles, exploring confusing environments, and playing through various retro-themed minigames to earn their freedom. Like a never-ending escape room, there is much to see and even more to do. Throughout the journey, there are a number of interesting side characters to converse with, each one possessing deep lore and having their role to play in the narrative.

What you hear and see might not always be reliable, and there’s a heavy emphasis on consequence. Every choice the player makes, whether it’s interacting with an object or talking to another character, is remembered, can significantly affect the way the story plays out.

While Centum might seem like a low-budget indie title at first glance, it is crucial to remember that publisher Serenity Forge has been responsible for numerous successful games since it was founded in 2014. Those games include horror titles like Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!, Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut, and To the Moon, just to name a few.

Centum is set to release on March 11, 2025, and is currently available for preorder on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
