Fans of Batman have been getting plenty of action in the video game space, with Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham franchise being the mainstay for so many of the Bat Family’s adventures. However, Batman: Arkham Knight was released in 2015, and with Rocksteady focusing on other DC characters, the fear is that the Arkham series is no more. Enter Batman: Arkham Shadow.
The next entry in the critically acclaimed Batman Arkham franchise, players will take on the mantle of the Dark Knight in an entirely different way compared to the rest of the series. That is because this will be a virtual reality game that is developed by Camouflaj and Oculus Studios in partnership with WB Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics, and coming exclusively to Meta Quest 3 later this year.
With evil stalking the streets of Gotham City yet again, it will be up to Batman to save the day, only this time, players will actually step into the boots of the hero. How that will play out remains to be seen, as the teaser trailer is more about setting the mood than actually showing off gameplay of Batman: Arkham Shadow.
For that, we will have to wait for about a month, as a sneak peek at gameplay and more will be revealed at Summer Game Fest 2024 on June 7 at 2 PM Pacific Time.
