Sid Meier's Civilization Vii Marks August with Gameplay Showcase

Following its reveal earlier this year at Summer Games Fest, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will return in August with its first gameplay reveal and showcase. On August 20 at 11 AM PT/August 21 at 2 AM SGT, there will be a world premiere of gameplay as part of Gamescom Opening Night Live.

Following that, the official Civilization VII Gameplay Showcase goes live on Twitch, featuring more than 20 minutes of exclusive insights and deep dives across new features and innovations. This will take place on August 20 at 130 PM PT/August 21 at 430 AM SGT.

“Since we announced Sid Meier’s Civilization VII back in June, the entire team at Firaxis Games has been delighted to see the excitement and passion shared throughout the Civ community. We promised that your first look at gameplay would be coming in August, and now we want to provide some details on what you can expect,” shared the developers.

Civilization is a game that is as wide as it is deep, covering the span of human history as you build your empire piece by piece in the attempt to stand the test of time. We know many of you love getting into the details, and we do too – that’s why we’re going all-out for the gameplay reveal coming later this month.”

Those who find themselves at Gamescom 2024 can also check out the official Civilization VII booth located in Hall 6. Otherwise, there is also the official Civilization VII Pax Panel happening on August 31 at 11 AM PT in Seattle, located in the Main Theater. The panel will also be streaming via Twitch.

Launching on PC, Max, Linux, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, Civilization VII is the follow-up to 2016’s Civilization VI, giving players another chance to engage in 4X goodness in a bid to dominate the world. The new entry is set to launch sometime in 2025.
