Steller Blade Developers Shift Up Reportedly Working on New Aaa Rpg Project Witches

With the breakout success of Stellar Blade, Korean developer Shift Up would have been forgiven for taking some time off and enjoying the fruits of the developers’ labour. However, according to new securities filing, the studio has already shifted its target to a brand new game codenamed Project Witches.

According to an article published on Yonhap News Agency and translated by Genki on Twitter/X, Shift Up’s new game will be a cross-platform title for PC, consoles, and mobile, and is set to launch in 2027. Project Witches will be an AAA urban sci-fi action RPG, with the studio seeking more funds via an IPO to strengthen its current and new IPs, as well as to hire new talents to “scale up development of new projects.”

There are also considerations about a PC port of Stellar Blade, although that is not confirmed yet. Currently, the game remains a PS5 exclusive. Aside from the action title, Shift Up also has made great strides in the mobile space, with Goddess of Victory: Nikke helping the company earn over US$750 million in just 1.5 years.

With Project Witches being a multi-platform title, Shift Up will be able to tap into its experience on both mobile and consoles to help with the development process. How this will translate to PC is another matter, but chances are, the studio will be able to find a way to continue its recent successes.
