Take-Two CEO Optimistic About Market, Hints at GTA VI PC Port

Take-two Reassures That It Has Been Rockstar Games’ Usual Approach to Release Their Games (including Gta) on Certain Platforms First Before Bringing Them to Others.

At this point, the argument is almost moot. While Take-Two Interactive continues to tease about the launch of Rockstar GamesGTA VI in 2025, it has maintained that the game will be consoles-only, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S being the sole platforms. However, many believe that a PC version is only a matter of time, and while the publisher refuses to confirm so, CEO Strauss Zelnick offers a hint that points in the right direction.

In his latest interview with IGN, Zelnick mentioned that they rarely release their games on all platforms simultaneously. For games from Rockstar, that has mainly held true, with titles often launched on select platforms first before expanding to others later.

“So with Civ 7 it’s available on console and PC and Switch right away,” Zelnick said. “With regard to others in our lineup, we don’t always go across all platforms simultaneously. Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms.”

Of course, Take-Two fully understands the potential of the PC market. Zelnick stated that for some multi-platform games, the PC version can contribute up to 40% of total sales.

“We have seen PC become a much more and more important part of what used to be a console business, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that trend continue,” Zelnick added. “Of course, there will be a new console generation.”

Zelnick’s optimism about the gaming industry is clear, even if there are still uncertainties about 2025. He believes that aside from GTA VI, the release of other great games will also contribute to the market and bring the industry up. The potential price of the game and the profit it will bring will likely be significant, even if it usually surpasses what is typical for the industry at large.

Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games are still targeting Fall 2025 as the release window for GTA VI, although they have yet to share any more details at this point.
