Expands Gaming Audio Lineup With ROG Cetra Open Wireless
ASUS Republic of Gamers has officially unveiled the ROG Cetra Open Wireless, a new pair of open-ear wireless earbuds designed to balance immersive audio with real-world awareness. Targeted at gamers, music listeners, and active users alike, the Cetra Open Wireless marks ROG’s latest move to broaden its audio ecosystem beyond traditional headsets.
Unlike in-ear designs that fully block external sound, the open-ear approach lets users stay aware of their surroundings while still enjoying detailed audio, making the earbuds suitable for both gaming sessions and outdoor use.
Dual-Mode Connectivity Focuses on Gaming Performance
A key feature of the ROG Cetra Open Wireless is its dual-mode connectivity. Users can switch between standard Bluetooth and ROG’s ultra-low-latency SpeedNova 2.4GHz wireless technology, ensuring synchronised audio and visuals during gameplay.
ROG has also introduced its first USB-C 2.4GHz dongle with passthrough charging, allowing players to keep their devices powered while maintaining a stable wireless connection. This feature is clearly aimed at handheld gaming, laptops, and mobile devices, where ports are at a premium.

Open-Ear Audio Tuned for Immersion and Clarity
The earbuds feature 14.2mm diamond-like carbon-coated diaphragm drivers, designed to deliver crisp highs, deep bass, and a wide soundstage with minimal distortion. ROG includes built-in audio presets such as Phantom Bass for enhanced low-end perception and Immersion Mode for ambient noise reduction.
Rather than full active noise cancellation, the Cetra Open Wireless focuses on preserving environmental awareness while improving perceived clarity for gaming, music, and voice communication.
Built for Comfort, Control, and Everyday Use
ROG has prioritised long-term comfort with liquid silicone ear hooks and a detachable reflective neck strap for added security during movement. Physical buttons replace touch controls, ensuring reliable input in sweaty conditions or rainy weather.
The earbuds are rated IPX5 for splash resistance and offer up to 16 hours of battery life in Bluetooth mode with lighting and microphones disabled. A 15-minute quick charge provides up to three hours of listening time, reinforcing their use as an all-day accessory.
ASUS has yet to confirm regional pricing or a retail release date for the ROG Cetra Open Wireless. More details are expected closer to launch as ROG continues expanding its gaming audio portfolio alongside its broader hardware lineup.
